Fall Baby

Sloane's ringing in fall with style. I adore this color on her! I've had to buy her new clothes all of a sudden because it is getting chilly and everything we have is from the summer clothing lines. I made this bow out of an old shirt I used to love, but don't wear anymore. Just one glance at her happy little face makes me fall in love more every time.

We call this one, "big eyes". She can go from huge smile to a startle with big eyes in a snap.
And she's quite a mover and shaker already. Those arms and legs have a mind of their own. My favorite is when she locks eyes with her fist and then focuses so hard that she punches herself in the face.
Since we were at it, we did a little tummy time. I very rarely put her down on the ground, for VERY obviously naughty and rowdy reasons, so if they aren't around then we have to take advantage of the time. We usually do tummy time right on me.

Sloane // Two Months Old

The babe is officially 2 months old.

She sleeps all night long and usually wakes up just once to half-eat. She lets me wear her as much as I want and sleeps the entire time. If she has slept and had a good meal she is the happiest, smiliest baby ever. She seems to be a total mama's girl, but also loves all the boys. Carson says he thinks she loves him most because she always smiles for him. She hates to be tickled. She thinks you're dropping her if you lift her up in the air, throws her arms out and does huge eyes. We've tried 3 types of binkies and she's only taken one on two occasions. She's just now fitting into 0-3 clothes; they're better in length now, but still drown her in width. The hair on the top of her head fell out and is now growing back in.

Today she was up to 9lb 10oz at the 11th percentile and 22 1/4in at the 38th percentile. She was not a fan of her shots. She did purple/silent baby and then wailed. She's super fussy now that it is the evening too.

Overall she is absolutely amazing and such a great addition to our crew. <3 br="" nbsp="">

Sloane, 8 weeks old

Now that little miss is much more alert between eat and sleep periods it is SO amazing to sit and watch her interactions. She coos, tries to copy your tongue, gives HUGE smiles, lets out tiny giggles, all the best the watch. I am so eager to see what personality will come out of her and who she will be. I have to work hard to enjoy the present and not wish for the next stage. She really is just the best though. I can't believe we were ever without all three of them!

Waking up Sloane

On Saturday morning Carl was already gone to work and the boys got up and went downstairs before I was up or Sloane was awake. Carson came up quickly to report that Max had gotten ahold of a bag of marbles and had thrown them all over the living room. True story, unfortunately. I ran down to intervene and left Sloane sleeping away in the middle of the bed (she isn't moving much yet so she was fine). I figured I'd bring up my real camera and have a little fun with her. All her faces just kill me. I can't wait to see more of the personality come out in her as each day goes by.

And my favorite.....

Sloane and Max // 7 weeks old

We are starting to get awesome smiles and giggles out of our little girl. Carson thinks she likes him best because she is all smiles when he comes around. She even fell asleep for him the other morning when he was humming to her in her rocker. But I haven't gotten many real smiles on camera because when I put it up to her face she stops and does 'big eyes'. I grabbed my camera right after naps today and these two were total hams. These were my favorite two photos I could quickly edit and post. :)

Sloane's first bath.

We waited until Sloane was 2 weeks old to give her a bath. She loves being in the bath so far, no complaints out of her at all. Until you get her out. That makes her an angry little baby for a few moments. :)

Sloane // ONE Month Old

I'm in shear disbelief that I'm ALREADY writing this post. June and July this year felt like a full two years and now the last month has gone in a blink. It is fascinating how when each of our babies were born it was like we had never been without them. I feel like I've known her forever now. In just the last few days I have been saying that she feels like she's changing. I'm sure she is….that's what happens, Self. Her headbands are leaving marks because they are getting too tight. Her 0-3 clothes all of a sudden aren't so out of the question. Her face is starting to fill out and she isn't looking like a new-newborn. She's started giving little smiles here and there. I do have to say that I am shocked at how pretty her skin is. She hasn't gotten any newborn acne, cradle cap, etc. The skin between her eyes and on her eyebrows peeled, but that is about it. I am leaning toward it being because they didn't give her the mandatory bath right after birth (not being in a hospital) and we didn't use any soap or lotion or give a bath at all for the first two weeks.

I thought it was fitting to keep up the monthly photo with Sloane like I did with the boys. I tried this morning, but she did not want to be set down. She is kind of a mama's girl so far. She'll let Carl or Grandma hold her, but it has to be on her terms. She spends much of the day in my arms or in my sling on me. There could be much worse problems though! Every photo I tried has either a full wail or puffy red eyes with a legit frown. She has perfected a pouty face with a little whine. And she's had real tears since the day she was born so she knows how to work it. ;)

After I put Max down for his nap I tried one more time. She crashed on my lap while we were reading to Max, but I figured she would wake back up. This time she stayed totally asleep, so this is her one month photo. haha   It is crazy cute though. And the same bear from Carson and Max's monthly photos will be joining her as well.

Here is the best from the first batch so we can see her size with the bear better. Dat pout...LOL

And from earlier in the morning….

Our family maternity photos

I didn't do maternity photos when I was pregnant with Carson. With Max I tried for some with my awesome friend, but we were both SUPER pregnant and we got rained out to boot.

As we got closer to the end with Sloane I was regretting not planning something. Then an opportunity to shoot with an amazing photographer that I really admire came up and I hopped on it. We shot with Sarah at M4H up in Ft. Collins and I couldn't be happier with the photos. We could't have had a pretty location for Colorado and I was more than game to jump in the water. :)
