2009 Family Photos

We got all of our family photos back that we shot in downtown Boulder. Somehow Carson isn't crying in EVERY shot! They turned out awesome, especially knowing his mood that day. There are still some funny ones mixed in where you can see him running away and holding stuff. That's what makes memories though.

ENJOY! (There are a lot and it isn't even all of them!)

This one is by far my favorite!

This week...

I have mega-thrown up all over Mommy and Mommy's hair.
I have stayed awake from 8pm-5am straight.
I have spun in circles so much that I've gone cross-eyed.

I have had a horrible runny nose and bad cough. :(
I haven't gone 5 minutes without taking off my socks.
I have melted my Mommy and Daddy's hearts by saying "Love You".

Say what?

Aside from the fact that Carson is getting a cold, has all four eye teeth coming in and is going through some new sort of sleep regression, this last 5 days have been amazing. (I must be tired...)

My last post said he said three new words out of no where. Since then he has tacked on another 10+. He is still saying SHOES and UP all the time with their correct meaning which helps cut down on a massive amount of whining. Some of the other words he has said are:

-Bubbles
-Juice
-Off
-Lemon & Ham (random repeats at the grocery store, but still funny and cool)
-Toes
-Beep
-Bob Loblaw :) (which he says Bob Boblaw)
-Baby
-Blue (he brought me his Blue's Clues book, said Blue and has been saying it ever since)
-Socks
And he's trying SO hard to say milk, but it always comes out "Mmmmmmmmama."

We thought we knew how fun it would be when he started talking, but this is better than you can even imagine. His little voice is the sweetest thing to my ears! I guess good things really are worth the wait.

18-Month Dr Appt

We had Carson's 18-Month check up yesterday. Everything was still good and apparently his is completely normal. You always assume that, but it's nice to have some reassurance. His growth curves and percentages were still exactly the same as always:

Height: 33.5 inches (75%)
Weight: 24lb 4oz (25%)

We finally got a good night's sleep last night after a couple of ROUGH nights with teething. He has 3 eye teeth that have broke the surface now and he's working on the fourth. His poor gums are so red and it makes me feel so bad. He barely ate a thing yesterday, but then scarfed down tons at breakfast today. I love when he gets over a hump like that and gets a little more back to normal.

Yesterday he said SHOES and UP and this morning he said APPLE. Up was the funniest though. Carl has been trying to get him to say it for months now when Carson whines at his feet. He spent a good 15 minutes just making the exact mouth motions of saying it before he added in the sound. It was hilarious to watch.

Here are some recent clips for your cute viewing pleasure:

Some funky moves:

Playing with Daddy:

Carl let Carson have a stale piece of licorice because it was so hard we knew he could only suck on it. Boy did he try to eat it though!

Itsy Bitsy Halloween

I normally never get into Halloween, but having a kid kind of changes it all. We got Carson a spider costume and I decided I wanted to be a bug in his web. Carl didn't really want to dress up so I just made a costume out of stuff around the house. I was supposed to have my huge poofy skirt draped with the big web piece and then I'd be the bug on top with a pair of wings I've had for years and years.

Carl decided just before we were going to leave that he wanted to be the web so I had to change it all. He got the web piece and I broke out the eyeliner for him. My costume didn't make any sense without the web so I went and grabbed an OLD prom dress I had and hoped for the best. Unfortunately everyone thought I was a fairy instead. I tried to put googly bug eyes on my antenna, but it didn't quite work out. It was still tons of fun to go out dressed up as a family.

We didn't take pictures until we got home so it was late and Carson was pooped.

Okay, I'll stay here for one...

Two...

I'm DONE!!!

Happy Halloween, 2009!!!
