Park Play

So here is my new post of randomness. I literally take so many pictures that I debate posting them, but then I know I'll regret not having my favorites all here!

On Saturday Carl went into work to help a friend with his truck. Carson and I met him down there for lunch and then wanted to find a park to play at since it was 57 degrees! It was sooooo nice that day. Carl thought he knew of a couple options on the way home and he hit a jackpot. We went to a park around Alameda and Peoria that had tons of stuff for the littler kids. Carson had so much fun and was completely worn out after it all. I just let the boys run and play while I watched with the camera. :)

Carl sent Carson down the tube slide to me upside-down and backwards. This is literally how he stopped at my feet.

Carson thought he was so cool on the monkey bars.

These two are such pals and partners in crime.

He didn't want to get off the swing this time. Usually he can last 30 seconds and gets a dizzy look.

On Sunday morning the boys went over to our friends' house for a playdate with their doggies. They were out of town and Luke was watching the dogs for them. Carl wanted to go watch football so they went and I got a couple of hours here in silence. It was a great break. Carson came home yelling Kito and Lola so he must have had fun! (those are the dogs' names)

That afternoon Carl was hanging a shelf for me in the bathroom and Carson was right there by his side. At some point Carson tried to squeeze by his dump truck and fell right on his face. His top front teeth went right into his bottom lip. Carl comes running out to the kitchen and Carson is dripping blood everywhere. Poor kid. It looked horrible for the first 2 days with a huge white blister on it.. Now it is still really swollen and just red. I asked him yesterday to show me his owie.

Right now my goal is to take good pictures of his eyes. I am shooting in full manual now and so the thing I have to work on the most is focus. I am getting much better though. Here are some from the last week.

And a cute pic with his pal Monkey the other day in our yard.

What to do when there's no power?

Take a bath, of course!

Yesterday we had no power from noon until after 8pm. Carson had an appt at 9am so I did all my errands in the morning or else I would have just gone out for the day. The power went out right after he had (finally) fallen asleep for his nap. He woke right up because of the silence and ended up sleeping a total of about 12 minutes. We were so bored...we played, colored, did some dancing, played games on my phone, etc. Technically it wasn't much different than a normal day, but it was just so quiet and I couldn't do anything I wanted to. Plus, my phone wasn't charged so I was scared to entertain us too much that way.

Anyways, around 3:00 I was getting cold so I decided we would go take a swim in the big tub. We got all of his bath toys, his Thomas bubble bath, I got my retired bikini and we hopped in.

I realized that I don't think I've taken a single picture of Carson in the bathtub since he was around 3 months old. It was nice and light so I snapped a few pictures before I got in.

I was bummed this one was a little blurry, it's so cute! Actually, stupid Blogger makes all the pictures look blurry even when they are in perfect focus. Grrr.

I forgot to grab his bath cup so I had to let him use the insert to his potty. It was clean, I promise! :)

Whenever I try to take pictures of him while we're playing he always attacks me. I end up with most of the shots looking like this. hehe

He did sit still for one quick shot before the ambush.

He is sure talking up a storm still though. This week he has added: house, tree, hippo, giraffe, keys, book, cookie AND Oreo (Carl knows the important words to teach......), bread, and on and on. He still can't say any C or K sounds which sucks because all he wants to talk about are cars and trucks. So for whatever reason he calls them Mayos, except our car he calls Jeep :). They are building a house in the lot behind us so he obsessively keeps track of what's going on back there. He repeats Mayo, Bye-Bye and House over and over again while pointing and watching. He added the Bye-Bye because he would want to see them 24/7 and they're not always there so we had to tell him the went bye-bye.

And he got his appetite back in full force this week after the last while of it being nonexistant. Everytime you have it figured out they add a new phase to keep you guessing.

That's all I've got right now. Things are pretty quiet around here. That can be a good thing though. I have a work teleconference at 9:30am on Friday that I know is going to last over an hour. I'm really not sure what I'm going to do so that's my only worry at the moment. Unfortunately my only option will probably be to put Carson up in the PnP with snacks and a cartoon and hope for the best. :(  I feel bad, but I really can't think of anything else as an option. I guess I'll just take him out for the day after that to make up for it!

2010: Week 1

I hope everyone is having a good new year. We've just been playing and hanging out with a little "real" work thrown in there. :)

Carson has pretty much been on an overall food strike for a few weeks now. He eats breakfast, sort of eats lunch, refuses to eat ANY dinner and then wakes up in the middle of the night yelling, "MILK!" because he's hungry. And then we repeat the cycle. Last night he had about four bites of bread and spent two hours fighting us on anything else. He literally didn't put a single bite of any other food in his mouth. And it's stuff we know he likes like potatoes, beans, corn etc. so it's not like he genuinely dislikes what we're feeding him.
I few times I've had to bribe him to eat by letting him hold his cars.

We've been to the museum twice this week.
He got to go with Daddy on Saturday (sorry for the poor phone pics):

And then doing some shopping together (such goofballs!):

Then we got to the museum at opening on Tuesday and we had the run of the place to ourselves for quite a while. Carson sure took advantage of it too!

Here's an example of his new dance move. He runs in circles and then dives on his knees.

Carson's nose started running out of no where again yesterday so I guess we get to fight another cold. He was up coughing and sneezing last night. Poor kid!
Good thing he's so handsome. :)
