4-Month Well Care Dr. Visit

All is great on the baby front!

He is growing so fast and the doctor didn't have anything bad to say. Of course, while we were talking Carson flipped over on the table so he got to see his stomach antics. He said Carson looks to be ahead of the curve on gross motor development; he doesn't normally see 4-month-olds that can roll over so easily and lift themselves up so high.

He was up to 14 pounds exactly. They want babies to have doubled their weight at birth by four months so we are right there. However he was only in the 25th percentile for weight.

He is now up to 25 3/4 inches in length! That means he has grown 6 1/2 inches since birth. He was in the 75th percentile for length. Hopefully he stays tall!

And of course we had to have 5 more shots. The poor thing turns the deepest color of red as soon as the first needle goes in. He did really good again though and didn't cry for too long!

Four Month Pictures

Man, time is flying by! :( (P.S. You can click "Monthly Photos" at the end of the post and it will pull up the other months' pictures if you want to compare.)

Baby giggles are the BEST

Now that we are starting to get giggles and belly laughs out of Carson, we really just can't get enough. They seriously just melt my heart. We got some good ones on camera last night (sorry, we still just have the cell phone to use). I started playing peek-a-boo with him while Carl was holding him...he was making me laugh so hard I could hardly even continue. Also, now he always laughs when you tickle him on the changing table. He was hamming it up when we were getting ready for a bath last night. ENJOY!

Attack of the baby-killing cat

See how scary the cat is and how she is trying to suck out his breath?!?!?!

Rainy Days of Summer

It rained and rained and rained for the last few days and it felt awesome! It was also an opportunity to get to dress Carson in some of his cold-weather clothes we haven't had an opportunity to wear yet. So cute!

Sunflower Field

We went for a walk last night to check out the newly blossomed sunflowers in the field right next to our house. Last year it was just hay or something so we were all really surprised to see all these sunflowers popping up. It is gorgeous out there and the field is so large that I couldn't get a picture to even do the size justice. Carson liked it too - it put him to sleep. :)

Pictures are in

I am so excited to get these pictures back! We decided to go have some really basic pictures taken of our new family - we take so many pictures, but Carl and I are rarely in any of them since we are behind the camera. And I really needed some "naked baby" pictures. :) We are really happy with how nice and simple they turned out. There are a ton here, so enjoy!

New hat!!!

I bought this adorable hat yesterday for Carson. I get so few chances to dress him up because there is such a crappy selection for baby boy clothes. We were having so much fun with it yesterday because it seriously is the CUTEST thing we have ever put on him. I'm sure there will be many more pictures in this hat to come soon...

(And note that he has found his middle finger this week. He won't stop flipping everyone off!)

Looooong week

Ahhh. It is so nice to just be. We had a very long week ending with a quick day trip out to SLC for work. I obviously had to bring Carson with me for the day in the office, but it is so hard because he gets so thrown off his routine. He was so tired because we had to leave for the airport at 5am. Poor guy slept on the flight there and ended up having a small melt down on the flight home. That was partly the airline's fault though because I had just got him asleep for the flight when they came on and announced that the plane was delayed. We boarded about 40 minutes late and so he ended up waking up on the plane instead of sleeping the whole time like I had planned out.

Oh well. Today we are finally just taking it easy and he has been sleeping so much. He is obviously extremely tired still even though it has been 2 days.

He slept a full 8 hours straight Friday night and 7 hours on Saturday night. He has NEVER slept longer than 5 1/2 hours straight if that tells you anything.

I took some pictures today while we were just playing. I love just snapping shots of all the different faces and expressions Carson makes. His face always seems to be changing.
