Happy 6th birthday, Carson!

It is crazy to write that Carson is 6! I know we say and think this about our kids every single year, but it feels so crazy. One more month of school and he's a first grader. ::mind blown::

We had his birthday party this weekend at our clubhouse so we'd have plenty of space to spread out. He wanted a Lego party so a Lego party we had. I wanted to go with the Lego City theme since that's all we gravitate toward, but they don't really sell anything like that for parties. I ended up having to DIY everything, but tried to keep it pretty simple. I invited his entire class plus friends/friends' kids so we ended up with well over 25 kids and all their grown ups. I was super scared all week I wouldn't be able to keep them entertained long enough, but that didn't end up being a problem at all. They all bounced from building cars to coloring to playing with a big ball and having snacks. All in all, they seemed to have a ton of fun which is all that counts. Carson got an insane amount of presents too. It made us want to say "no gifts" on upcoming years because we felt bad! We'll try to keep it way smaller in the future, but this one was a blast with all his buddies everywhere.

I had them all guess the number of Lego candies in the jar. Whoever was closest won a Lego set.

This photo made me giggle as soon as I saw it. The game of "throw the big ball around like crazy little people" got pretty intense.

I knew I'd need a lot of cake so I just went with a full sheet from Target. The problem was that they don't offer a Lego cake so I had to get a track from the Cars 2 set, without the toys. I gave Carson a new police and robber set early so he could put it together for the cake. The Lego candles were sold in sets of six also so I couldn't resist them.

Cake anticipation…...

Somehow he stopped long enough for me to get this shot. He is such a handsome little man.

Poor Max. He had kind of a rough week and the party started right in the middle of when he should've been napping. I figured we'd just keep him up and see what happened. Well, he played hard, ate hard and then crashed hard.

For proof that I was at my own party….. Luckily Jen made me stop for a selfie :)

On Easter morning he wanted to get right at building a big Lego set from Christy. We didn't get time to open presents at the party so now we're just making him wait until his actual birthday. He got to dig in a few though so this came out as a priority.

Baby #3…. 3rd Trimester

Seriously, this process draaaaaaaaaaaaged on up until the 20 week ultrasound and now it is totally flying by. Last week we hit double-digit days and now today we are 27 weeks, aka in the third trimester.

Overall I can say physically I'm feeling pretty good right now. Apparently she is laying right in my back and is posterior right now so I'm having some trouble again with my nerves in my lower back like I did with the boys. I'm hoping to go see a chiropractor soon to help out. I haven't been writing or doing anything creative lately at all though. I feel like I am kind of hibernating. I literally got my camera in my hands the other day for the first time in months around the house. I am pretty tired and not sleeping great (lovely pregnancy insomnia again) so after I get the boys handled throughout the day, my job taken care of, dinner on the table, etc., I really haven't had anything else in me to process extra stuff. I find myself regretting not writing so many details here. This blog has served as my memory for so long and I know I am leaving way too much out consistantly. We are getting ready for Carson's 6th birthday party AND Easter this weekend, but it will all be fun.

The biggest thing that has happened recently is that I ditched my OB and found an amazing midwife birthing center. I have had such a change of heart and mind this time around and was disgusted at how my OB treated the whole process. Apparently when you are having your third child you aren't supposed to have any questions or concerns. Whatever. I am now so insanely excited to have our baby girl at the birth center in the water without any drugs this time. I'm doing tons of prep and reading and I just hope everything works out how I envision.

Let's also just say that shopping for pink and getting to say NO to the question, "do you need a gift receipt" has been about the most fun thing in a while. We are definitely stocked up for 0-3 and past that we'll handle as it comes.

I'm still keeping up with my weekly belly selfies. Here is my first at 14 weeks through my 25th and then today's photo at 27. She is sitting so low and in the back that I'm not rounding out up top much yet.
This morning made me laugh. I looked in the mirror and realized how crooked my belly was. It is seriously totally over to one side!

Recent stuff of the boys…..
We found Max this baby sister book at the library and it is his total favorite. He asks to read it at nap and bedtime almost every single day now. Aside from that time he is in total denial about my pregnancy and won't even acknowledge it if you ask him about it. LOL

Mr. Carson is on a shirt and tie kick. He only has a few ties and asks to wear them to school like every other day. I finally found one at Target the other day in the boys dept that is for 8-10 year olds so it isn't so short on his ridiculously long torso. I thought everyone says boys don't care about what they wear! This kid sure has an opinion.

My non-baby baby.

Carson has a girrrrrlfriend! This started as Amelia chasing and tackling him (like here after chess club) and has now developed in them exchanging phone numbers and have little phone conversations. They are so insanely cute.

I have much more of our trips to Carmel and San Francisco, but like I said with my lack of doing anything extra, I haven't even gone through most of the photos. I'll have to play catch up here soon.
