Wooten Christmas 2014

We had a fun and calm Christmas this year. It was Sloane's first and the boys were definitely antsy leading up to the big day. My dad and grandpa flew out to be with us for a few days. We had to talk Grandpa Jack into coming since he is happy at home and hasn't flown for 25+ years, but it all worked out. It was a really bittersweet Christmas to have the family all around here, but be missing Grandma. She loved Christmas and I have so many ornaments on the tree from her. She bought the boys' first Christmas ornaments. I had to get online on Christmas night and order one for Sloane when I realized we didn't have one for her yet.

Carson's theme this Christmas was Minecraft. Minecraft books, diamond sword, pickaxe, more books, a little creeper and more. Max loves to play grocery store so he got a cool cash register, books, a movie, games and puzzles.... Santa didn't go overboard this year and it was perfect. Sloane got a playhouse and a piano jumper. And yes, the top of our tree has no lights. haha  I knew this was the last year for this old guy and when the top didn't work it solidified that. I did buy new lights to try and fix it, but the white was totally different so it didn't match. I rock at Christmas.

The grandparents gave some great gifts too. Passes to the museums, tickets to a Nuggets game, toys, and gift cards.

Sloane // Five Months Old

Oh, where to begin about our little lady. Five months is looking good on Sloane. She is a rolling foolio. She has mastered all the different directions, front-to-back and back-to-front. I'll set her down on her play mat next to my desk and before I know it she's rolled into the cabinet or over the swing leg and is screaming. She is chewing on anything she can get her hands on, which results in massive amounts of drool. Sophie the Giraffe is still a favorite teething toy. We just moved into size 2 diapers last week. I think Max was in size 2 at like 1 or 2 months. Me-ow. She gets a bunch of small catnaps throughout the day because of the boys' schedules and she's becoming a really sensitive and light sleeper. It isn't very fun. She still loves to be worn all the time and is totally happy in my arms. But heaven forbid I try to sit down with her. In the sling she wiggles until I stand up; if I'm just holding her and sit down I must let her stand on my lap. She is happy as a clam sitting on Daddy's lap in the rocking chair though. Her little hands have become quite the problem for me lately. I can't eat anything with her in my arms because he tiny fingers will swap and grip onto anything she can get them onto. She's slapped a drink out of my hands, spilled my water on me today and has gotten chunks from many sandwiches. We're so excited for her first Christmas this week and I think she'll love what Santa is bringing. :) And I don't think her eye-to-head ratio is evening out just yet either.

Sloane // 4 Months Old

My little love. We don't have a newborn anymore. Officially. Sloane has been rolling from back to tummy for over a week now. She gets over and then panics because she doesn't know what to do, or whatever babies think in that situation. She is moving all over the place. After a few minutes she is mad on the floor, but is also mad if you pick her up and don't let her move and shake. For this first photo she refused to sit straight up. All she wanted to do was arch her back to start moving which made her keep slipping down.

She is a total drool monster. I got a teething necklace that she is figuring out how to grab onto to get it in her mouth. And a new Sophie the Giraffe is getting some action now and those little fingers are always being chewed on. I weighed her about 10 days ago and she hadn't hit 12 pounds yet. Her doctor's appt is on Tuesday so we'll find out where she actually is now. She's fully in 3-6 month clothes, but most of it is still super baggy. She is pretty long though so we have to go with the bigger size. She is happiest on me in a sling, just like she is right at this moment while I type. Actually she was sleeping, but Max just coaxed his way into the office and woke her up. Go figure. She's so insanely alert when we are out that napping other than at home and the car is becoming less and less. I can hardly get her to eat when we're out because she is so distracted by all the action around her.

UPDATE: Little Miss is still teeny tiny after our pedi check up! She was 12lb 8oz (15%) and 24.25in (37%). Max weighed more than she did at 2 months! Haha! At four months Carson was a pound and a half bigger and Max was almost 5 pounds bigger!!!

Her big brothers are mildly obsessed with her. I tell them to give her some space about 1, 256,089 time per day. I have to let Max hold her before every nap and at bedtime. Carson keeps his eye on her in those quick moments when I am not looking at her and Max come roaring in. I can't wait to see their bond develop as they all grow. I look around our home and everything is perfect. Chaotic ALL DAY, but perfect.

See, rolled over and immediately got furious. Haha
She was actually just ready for a nap so she was getting a bit grumpy.

We broke out the baby seat this week too. I only use it like this when the boys aren't around and I need to cook or clean something. I can't actually wear her 24/7... She refuses to sit up straight so she grabs her toes, squishes her tummy, and spits up. Like clockwork.

Off to high school.....

Okay, maybe not high school yet, but it sure feels like time is flying! I have so much that I don't get a chance to post here and it makes me sad. Sloane is changing so much every day. This weekend I was getting ready upstairs while Carl was playing with her downstairs. He yelled for me to come down and I saw her roll right over from her back to her belly. She's doing it on the play mat next to me as I type this. She gets over and can get both arms out in front, but then yells because she doesn't know what else to do. It's adorable. Her head control is amazing already too which I partially attribute to wearing her upright so much.

Before I got her dressed today I took a minute for some photos in her crib. I've done lots of photos like this, but she looked especially cute today. I love getting all the expression captured on camera. :)

Sloane is 3 months + 20 days old
I can't wait for the toe-in-mouth phase, but I'm trying my best to be present. I look forward to finding out all the little details that will soon make up this girl. Having a baby is seriously the best though.
She's found her hands and those fingers are constantly being chewed on now. THE DROOL.......
