Mother's Day 2013 - Grand Lake, CO

I've neglected the blog.....CHECK
I'm a broken record..........CHECK

We headed up to Grand Lake for our annual Mother's Day drive this year, like we did in 2010. It was the first warm day we had had in a long time it felt like. The lake up there is spectacular to look at. I was amazed at how still it was and the reflection was just perfect. Even though it was Mother's Day I just realized I didn't get in a photo. Oops.

Days are so busy around here that working on my own personal photos and stuff is about the last thing I seem to have time for. I know I'll regret it someday though. I haven't posted anything about what Max has been up to and what he's doing developmentally which is making me so sad. He's turning into a little boy right before my eyes!

He went from having about 5 words and worrying the doctor at his 18 month appt to now having probably at least 40. I couldn't even count.
Some of his favorites are: Me, Mine, Move, Do (which is a demand for "let me do it!"), NO!, Meow, Mama, Daddy, Two, Ball, Bubble, Eat, Butt, Poop, Boot, Shoes, Out, Wheel (he calls all cars and trucks Wheel), Blue, White, House............ This list is making me laugh because it seems so random!

He adores anything Carson does or has. You can imagine this creates a little conflict in the house since Carson doesn't totally want to share 24/7. But overall they are so freaking cute together that I just can't stand it. Yesterday morning they were watching a cartoon while I got ready and next thing I knew Carson went and got Max a string cheese and banana. Just because he felt like being nice. What?!

Max isn't always the most lovey kid though. Carson has always been a hugger and snuggler, but Max isn't like that. Literally 99% of the time if you ask him for a kiss you get punched in the face. Not too long ago I had the camera out and Carson asked if he could take a picture of me and Max. I plopped down with him right there in the kitchen and this is what happened. There are no sweet moments if he doesn't initiate them.
He wanted the keys back so he could continue to try and break into the cabinet.
