Christmas Day!!!

This year was all about Carson. We spent the day with Grandpa Rick and Grandma Susan and we all had so much fun watching Carson explore his new toys. It was all a little overwhelming for him and he couldn't decide which toy to play with first. We ended up opening presents in two batches with a nap in between. He loves everything he got now that he has had time to really check it all out. We got a video camera for our present so hopefully we will have some video to come of Christmas very soon!

Different Santa, Same Carson

We went and found Santa where there wasn't a crowd today so we could get a "real" picture. Carson wasn't scared at all and he still kept the puffy confused face. He wouldn't smile, but the pictures turned out cute.

We are having a blast with Grandpa Rick here for Christmas. He can't get enough of Carson and they are wearing each other out!

Punk Baby

Carson looks like he has a baby toupee. His hair grows on the top lately, but not much around the sides. Carl decided to give him a mohawk on Saturday. It wouldn't lay back down after so we went out in public like this. It was really funny though!

8 Month Pictures

If you read my last post you know we were at the zoo yesterday. We were so busy before going that I didn't have a chance to take Carson's 8 month pictures. We got home late, but figured we snap a few before bed. These were taken a good 45 minutes past his bedtime so he wasn't too into it.

Oh, and part of the reason I didn't have time to take them before we left was due to Carson. I was getting ready and he was cruising around in the bathroom, just like every day. All of a sudden I smelled baby soap. He had gotten a bottle down off the ledge, unscrewed the cap and spilled baby soap ALL OVER the bathroom. He was covered in it and it was all over the tile and bath mats. So we had an unexpected bath experience in place of a photo session. :)

Santa?

Last night was Carl's work Christmas party at the Denver Zoo. We were excited because we had never been there and they do "Zoo Lights" at night time which is when the party was. They were also having a Santa so I haven't taken him to a mall since I was just figuring I'd wait for this party to get Carson's picture.

Then, being the really prepared mommy I am, I made sure the camera was all charged and packed up to go. We literally are about to walk up to Santa and the camera won't turn on. I realize I left the battery in the charger at home. Ugh. Oh, and their cameras had just broken so that wasn't an option either. So.....we got two cell phone pictures! They aren't great, but will be funny later on. Hopefully I can run to a mall when Grandpa Rick gets here and get some real ones. Enjoy!

Already?!?!?

This is what I found yesterday. We had stuff on the stairs to be carried up and he had thrown it all over. When I found him he was actually up 3 or 4 stairs and I pulled him down before running for the camera. This all happened in the time it took me to walk in the kitchen and grab some lunch.


Then he confirmed it for us last night and went from the bottom to the top a few times. Needless to say, I bought a gate today! :)


Edited to add: Sigh. He just got past my box barricade and was sitting up on the landing! What a monster.

Such a character

Have we mentioned that Carson keeps us on our toes???
We currently have a large bench blocking him in the living room and he has already started climbing up the stairs. He had done it while we were right there a few days ago. But yesterday he crawled away from me and before I knew it he was up on the second stair. I guess it really is time to buy that gate! He stands on anything he can find and walks all around the coffee table and couches.

One of his top front teeth came through about 5 days ago and the other one is starting to make an appearance. For now he just looks goofy and has one tooth. :) These were the best teeth pics I could get since he refuses to let you pull up his lip.

More random pics from this weekend...

We had a lot of fun hanging out with the family this weekend. Everyone left this morning and our house feels really empty and quiet all of a sudden. :) We watched a ton of movies, played games and ate a ton of food. We all had a really good time just lounging around. Carson had fun playing with everyone and got worn out every single day.
