Carson's First Tooth Fairy Visit

Carson's two bottom teeth have been wiggling around in there for weeks now. The one started going even more and we were ready to just have the excitement come to a head. He could only stick his tongue under it so many time a day, right?? He wouldn't let us pull it and freaked if we even looked at it wrong. We offered up some Orajel which took the edge off and then he got brave.

The video is the event as it unfolded. If you don't like blood, there is a little of it….warning.

He was SO excited to go to school today as "Toothless Joe", as Grandpa Rick likes to call him. The tooth fairy brought him a letter, a certificate and $2. Inflation these days, but the next ones won't yield quite that much.

Halloween, 2013 (+October instagrams)

We had a great night trick-or-treating this year. The weather held out, although it was a little too cold for all the tiny fingers. It took weeks to finalize the decision for Carson's costume. He changed his mind multiple times a day and I'm not sure what finally made him stick on Batman. "Not that old gray Batman, Mom, the cool black Batman." I thought his mask was adorable though. I put the costume up when it came in the mail a few weeks ago so it was special to break it out for the first time yesterday morning. He wore his mask to story time at the library today too. Haha

Max has a thing with owls right now for whatever reason. Every time I asked him what he wanted to dress up like he would say an owl, so an owl it was. His costume was super easy to make and I thought it came out so cute. It worked out that another mom I knew happened to have this matching hat for the cold night and he was done. In the morning I threw some yellow pants, a feathered collar and some makeup together for me to be a mama owl, but apparently the owl ears I made made me look like a cat. I'm still laughing at how if there's a way to mess it up, I will do it.

Our boys were so cute though and had as much fun as kids should have on Halloween. My neighbor loves their pictures done too so I love that it helps keep me in the tradition of these photos before the sun sets every year. I hope everyone out there was safe too!
Carson's grumpy face here made me laugh so hard. He was having a moment and didn't want to stop for a picture. It always has to be one of them, right?!
Carson and his buddy Cole did a quick costume swap. Cole's family was all from Willie Wonka! So cute!

Here's all the rest of the stuff from October that I haven't posted!!!

I seriously hate that around here they schedule school's fall break this week. Going to school in your costume was one of the best days of the year, hands down. We didn't do any other activities so I wanted to take the boys out so they could get a whole day of dressing up. I figured we were all winged things so what better than a trip to the Butterfly Pavilion?! :)

We carved pumpkins with our lovely neighbors and their two boys this year. The boys ended up inside playing after about 10 minutes and the grown ups laughed at themselves for the rest of the time.

We had some great leaf piles this year.
We found a great family hiking spot down at Castlewood Canyon State Park last month. We came down for a fall Sunday hike along with Christy, Andy, Dustin and their pups and the scenery was spectacular. I've gone Colorado, folks! I never thought you'd catch me saying I went on a hike and liked it.

Carson at a super fun birthday party making pizza at a local restaurant. Did I mention he is Carl's son?

Fall tee ball is dunzo. I'm over it with the cold and long nights. It is so hard to figure out dinners!! Fall was the Blue Blades. haha

Monster trucks are still a favorite around here. Oh, and Carson has totally found music. See his headphones? Carson spent a good penny on those and somehow Carson has weaseled those and an iPhone out of us to use as his own.

Now here come a whole lot of silly and squishy Max love…

On his way into daycare. I found that if I call it "school" he is 100% gung-ho about going on in.

Good night "pinky promise" that we're best friends. We have Carl and Carson to thank for that family tradition.

Came out of the grocery store from sun to this…. weird.

Instagrams - Mid-July through early October

Holy crap. My fingers might actually fall off after the amount of clicking it took to get all these photos individually in here. Lesson learned, I need to update this MONTHLY, not quarterly.  I couldn't take the time to sort them all so I just uploaded them in order by date, oldest to newest. This is only the ones I Instagrammed...there are about a billion more on my phone.

The biggest news in the last month is that Carl got a job with Tesla Motors!!! He applied there for the first time over 3 years ago. They've only ever had 3 techs for this 7-state region and decided to add a fourth. Carl just happened to know the right people at the right time and the rest is history. It seems pretty perfect so far. They aren't flat rate which means he is paid hourly for the first time in car world and the benefits blow anything we've ever had out of the water.

The boys warship the ground their daddy walks on. So it is no surprise that Tesla is the new obsession around here. Some of the Model S's come with this fold down third row for kids in the trunk. They think it is so insanely fun.

We were up in the mountains last weekend for one of my photo shoots and found the Tesla Superchargers in Silverthorne. These are pretty awesome!
Carson and his friends have started telling secrets when I'm around. :(
I need more pillows.
Team tee ball party after summer season was over. The Green Dragons....get it?
Sophie, planning to eat me while also keeping me from working. Why wouldn't she stand RIGHT THERE?
I found this one of me and Carl on the iPad from one of the boys.
Our neighborhood got hit really hard with the first round of rain this summer. That water should've stayed at the far end in the drainage area and came all the way up past where we were, through the playground and to the street.
Back to school night for Kindergarten. (I have more from this night I need to find)
Our first trip to Red Rocks for a show. My mom got me tickets to Brian Regan for my bday.
We've been going to the BMX track a lot. Carson has a new BMX bike since this photo was taken. (And as a side note, I type BMW every time I try to type BMX.)
Shooting my dorky self.
Weekend drive to the mountains.
Someone found a lip crayon in my bag and somehow figured out it was lipstick instead of a real crayon.
Max is my little shopping buddy.
Carson took a while to ease into not getting naps at school anymore and would fall asleep everyday in random spots when we got home.
Carson's first love letter from a girl at school.
I die.
After three hours at the BMX track. Sweaty helmet hair.
At Jumpoline on a day off school.
Fall tee ball. They're the Blue Blades this time.
A Sunday hike at Castlewood Canyon State Park. I LOOOVED this place!
The boys sent this to Carl on his first day of work at Tesla.
I so wish this was taken with my real camera. :(
I seriously can't try to do anything physical with Max around. He is so rough and a total wrestler!
See, shopping buddy, sleeping on the job.
Waiting to go into Carson's first parent teacher conference.
At our favorite mountain park in Georgetown.
Carl teases me all the time about my love for stripes. He saw how I had dressed myself and the boys and found himself a striped shirt to join in. He insisted we document this.....
At the Children's Museum while "Bubba" is at school.
I get on a work call and have to just hope whatever is going on around the corner isn't too tough to clean up. The lid off the eggs freaked me OUT.
Max hiding in the back of the closet, pooping. He peed on the potty a couple times about a week ago, but still isn't really acting like he is ready. I learned to let them do it when they are ready the hard way with Carson so I'm not forcing anything.
Carl and the boys took off bright and early for the monthly cars and coffee car show this weekend. Carl insisted I stay home and have some time to myself so it was a boys day.
I miss the days when the boys were little and I'd get stuck with them asleep on me. There's nothing better than this.
We spent Sunday at Cherry Creek Reservoir hiking around. It was a PERFECT day.
My bathing babes.
